Retreat yourself

Hi there.

Burned out? Not sure what your next career move will be? Frustrated at work? Feeling job envy? Thinking about making a big change, but just can’t pull the trigger?

Gurrrrl, it’s time to retreat yourself.

Grab a gal pal who gets your career and tuck yourselves away to chat, relax and have fun for a weekend. I swear by it.

For the past few years, one of my college besties and I have pledged to get together once a year to check each other on big life goals – our next job, travel quests, keeping the hubs happy, etc. I always come out of the weekend with motivation not to mess with and a clearer head.

There’s something about hearing yourself answer simple questions like, “How’s your job?” and “What’s your next trip?” that brings clarity to how you’re REALLY feeling. And, having a confidant who can call bullshit is invaluable. Or, conversely, can tell when you’re truly happy and is savvy enough to point it out to you and remind you to cherish the feeling.

I hate to say it, but the white stuff is around the corner. What better way to tackle 2016 with a girlfriend getaway after the holidays? Make it happen. You deserve it.

Or, biking with them both on her mamacycle (baby seat in the front, tandem in the back).
