The Non-Family Member Holiday Gift Guide

If you’re like me, you struggle with non-family gifts. You don’t want to buy something that sends the wrong message, is too personal, or worse - results in a fashion fail! Families are forgiving (mostly!), but you don’t want your coworker, friend or client to respond with, “thanks, an avocado” (seriously, Google it), when they receive your gift.

Since I’m a big believer in not only supporting local small businesses, but also featuring the cool Cleveland vibe, I’ve compiled six no-fail gifts that anyone would love to receive this holiday season! Best of all, all six gifts are from kick-ass CLE women.

Great Lakes sweatshirt. Every time Cuyahoga Collective is anywhere, I immediately gravitate to this sweatshirt. At $40, it’s stylish, reflects our area and is the perfect shade of neutral gray. Who doesn’t love a comfy gray sweatshirt!

Cleveland tote bag. A collaboration between Blair Ritchey and Shore Society, this adorable tote can be purchased at Lovely Paperie & Gifts in Rocky River. For just $38, you’re supporting three female CLE entrepreneurs with this purchase!

Kelsey Elizabeth Cakes. This sleeve of vanilla bean macarons can be personalized with the name of your coworker, client or friend. Gift problem solved for $21! They have stores in Rocky River and Avon Lake. Hurry up, you just have a week!

Fount Leather keychain. Jackie and Phillip are incredibly kind, talented and hard working people with an amazing store in Gordon Arts. Coming in at just $33, this leather tassel key chain would be the perfect style addition this holiday season.

Cleveland AF hat. Clearly not for a client, but more for a friend who loves CLE as much as you do (and maybe you want one, too!).  Emily Roggenburk’s style and Cleveland humor is off the charts. I’m also loving her Kinda Care, Kinda Don’t Browns t-shirt. I think we all feel that way about our Browns. The hat is $22 and the t-shirt is $25.

Kindness Cards. These cards come in a set of 25 for $10. They are the sweetest thing and a great reminder of what this season is about. Check out the other items from Jen at Minor Details CLE and like me, you’ll be doing a lot of your shopping on Jen’s site, including her Cleveland Brewery passport (pair this with a 6-pack of CLE craft beer) or her Christmas Story prints.

No excuses, get shopping!
