Silence

Silence.

As I persist against injustice…

Your silence has already spoken.

By doing nothing

You are enabling a great big something.

Your silence has already spoken,

Like chilly words

Creating goosebumps down my spine.

Your silence has already spoken,

Eerily and tension-filled making me

think the worst is yet to come

Your silence has already spoken.

Blaming me for an injustice committed against me,

Resolving yourself from responsibility.

Your silence has already spoken

Like a mantra saying,

there is no room for me in this world.

Your silence has already spoken

Deceiving me into

Believing you are trying to protect me.

Your silence has already spoken.

The words risk and justice

Do not exist in your vocabulary.

Your silence has already spoken,

Saying, “I am only it

For myself.”

Your silence has already spoken

For you

And against me.

Your silence has already spoken.

I say in return, “change is coming

And if you try to stop me…”

Silence.
